It was my half birthday yesterday! Mama and Daddy planned a whole lot of fun for me. We celebrated with half of a cupcake. Daddy took my nose off and Mama sang to me. I got so excited that I was able to blow my own candle out! Then it was time to eat the cupcake...well actually Mama and Daddy ate it, but I got to taste the frosting.I also got to put a half dollar in my piggy bank. I know, I know, it's not a piggy, but Mama thought the green turtle was just too cute. I get to add more half dollars to the bank at each half birthday. Pretty soon, I'm going to be rich! All in all, it was a great way to celebrate my half birthday. I'm looking forward to doing this again in another year.
Too cute, Noah! Who doesn't love their daddy taking off their nose and mama singing to them? Your nose is so cute, I thought your daddy might not let you have it back, but it looks like he did :-) You are starting some great traditions, Noah, and I bet that "piggy" bank will be full in no time. I do have a question though...if you get a half-dollar on every half birthday, do you think you might be able to look forward to a whole dollar on every whole birthday? Just curious...I bet your mama and daddy have that all planned out. I'm glad you got to taste the frosting (some people would say that is the BEST part); I'd say it was yummy!

Our son, Noah Stone Jackson, was born with a very rare genetic disorder called Fraser syndrome. Among his many challenges are one “hidden eye”, a narrow trachea (which required him to have a tracheotomy), an imperforate anus (which required a colostomy), difficulty swallowing (which required a G-Tube for feedings), the fusing of his vocal chords (which means he may never speak), and club feet (which are being corrected with braces). Our family is on an amazing journey together. We are learning to walk along this path that God has planned for us, trusting in His infinite love and wisdom. We are taking each day (or each moment) as it comes and relying on each other, our friends and family, and our God for strength. We have a long road ahead of us filled with several more surgeries, lots of recovery, countless hours of therapy, and many trips to specialists around the state. Every day brings us challenges but they pale in comparison to the smiles and cuddles from our little man. Noah is our son, a true gift from God, and we cannot wait to see where this adventure leads.
