Last Hurrah!

We decided to head out of town one last time before I have to go back to work {tears}. When the highs hit 64 degrees, where else would you want to be in the middle of August but Huntington Lake?!? It was so nice to get away, spend some quality family time together, sit in front of the fire at night, take naps during the day, and head down to the lake for a swim {for Sierra, that is}.

Noah loved to watch Sierra fetch sticks in the lake. He would laugh every time Sierra came out of the water and shook off.

Waiting patiently for Kc to throw the stick.

Mr. Man was very interested in the lake this time around. All he wanted to do was touch the water. As long as his feet were protected from the horrible, icky sand and cold water, he was quite happy to "play" in the lake.

Noah is still not walking on his own very well, but he loves to walk "with" you. Two hands please!

What an awesome weekend to wrap up the best summer ever! How in the world am I going to go back to work?!?

Fabulously beautiful Mama and Stinkpot pictures! My heart aches for you having to return to work but I'll be in prayer that you find peace in the midst of that process. It's wonderful that Noah continues to include you in his "walks". Two hands are always better than one!

Super Pictures KC! Such GREAT subjects you have to work with!!! Love the "Kisses" black and white one! So glad you have the time to spend with Noah, Becky, before you re-start school. Your "little man" is getting so big! Hugs to the 3 of you.

Hi, I'm so happy to have found your cute boy! I have a special boy, too. No diagnosis, but he is in a wheelchair and doesn't talk. Cute, though, for sure.

The Story

Our son, Noah Stone Jackson, was born with a very rare genetic disorder called Fraser syndrome. Among his many challenges are one “hidden eye”, a narrow trachea (which required him to have a tracheotomy), an imperforate anus (which required a colostomy), difficulty swallowing (which required a G-Tube for feedings), the fusing of his vocal chords (which means he may never speak), and club feet (which are being corrected with braces). Our family is on an amazing journey together. We are learning to walk along this path that God has planned for us, trusting in His infinite love and wisdom. We are taking each day (or each moment) as it comes and relying on each other, our friends and family, and our God for strength. We have a long road ahead of us filled with several more surgeries, lots of recovery, countless hours of therapy, and many trips to specialists around the state. Every day brings us challenges but they pale in comparison to the smiles and cuddles from our little man. Noah is our son, a true gift from God, and we cannot wait to see where this adventure leads.
