Hooked on Pedialyte

Noah's colostomy closure surgery is today...finally. After having to postpone the surgery for seven weeks because of pneumonia, I thought this day would never come, but here it is. In order for Noah's insides to be clean, he has been on a Pedialyte only diet since Sunday. It's been a bit rough for Mr. Man, but he is taking it like a champ. We have been feeding him every two to three hours and boy does he let us know when he's hungry.

The surgery is scheduled for 11:00. Please pray for the doctors and nurses as well as for Noah. Wish us luck with our hospital stay (hopefully not more than five days) as well as our first poopy diapers.

Alright, here we go! Another important operation. I'll certainly be flooding the Lord with prayers today. No more colostomy bag! Woo hoo!

Prayer is definately on the top of my "Must Do" list until we know that all is well and you are all safely back home. Never has a poopy diaper been so exciting! For ANYTHING, please don't hesitate to ask. It looks like your class is in VERY capable hands with Mrs. Cheney. Yay!Hugs and love to all...

Yes, us too, we will be flooding the Lord with prayers!! Stinky, yucky diapers...here they come!! Who would've thought we would all be SOOOO happy for those!?!? Yeah Noah! We love you little man...

The Story

Our son, Noah Stone Jackson, was born with a very rare genetic disorder called Fraser syndrome. Among his many challenges are one “hidden eye”, a narrow trachea (which required him to have a tracheotomy), an imperforate anus (which required a colostomy), difficulty swallowing (which required a G-Tube for feedings), the fusing of his vocal chords (which means he may never speak), and club feet (which are being corrected with braces). Our family is on an amazing journey together. We are learning to walk along this path that God has planned for us, trusting in His infinite love and wisdom. We are taking each day (or each moment) as it comes and relying on each other, our friends and family, and our God for strength. We have a long road ahead of us filled with several more surgeries, lots of recovery, countless hours of therapy, and many trips to specialists around the state. Every day brings us challenges but they pale in comparison to the smiles and cuddles from our little man. Noah is our son, a true gift from God, and we cannot wait to see where this adventure leads.
