Today was a busy day for Kc and I. We both took the day off of work and headed over to the clinic at 7:30 a.m. for my four hour fasting blood glucose test. My blood sugar has been high lately and the Dr. wants to determine if I have gestational diabetes. For those of you who have never had the privilege of experiencing a blood glucose test...first you fast for twelve hours. Then you drink 12 oz. of an incredibly sugary, fruit punch flavored syrup. Then every hour for four hours you have blood drawn. So much fun! We should have the results back in a day or two. Meanwhile I am off sugar and have severely limited my carbs. Probably better for me, but, oh so hard to do.
After that joy, we headed over to our high-risk OB for another ultrasound of Noah. We have been having monthly ultrasounds to keep and eye on his club feet and bladder. The first view we had was a perfect profile of our son.
He now weighs 3 pounds 11 ounces and is starting to put on some baby fat. We were able to get some 3-D pictures that show his cute lips and button nose.
The good news is his bladder looked much better this month. We have been concerned with the abnormal, "keyhole" shape to his bladder. The Dr. thought Noah would probably need surgery immediately after he was born. This month, however, his bladder looked better. It is still abnormally shaped and we will continue to watch it, but we are hopeful he won't need immediate surgery. Thank you so much for your continued prayers.
