Picnic at the Park

We have been so blessed with a steady stream of family and friends traveling back home to Fresno. Last weekend, two of my girlfriends from junior high/high school/college visited with their families. We decided the weather was so beautiful {upper 70s} that we should have a picnic.

The Jacksons got there a bit early and had some fun with Noah on the swings.

Boy does Noah love the swings!

Noah has been practicing wearing his hat. Ain't he the cutest thing ever?!?

Here are the ladies...Susan{holding Amy's daughter, Grace}, Amy, Diane {holding her son, Tyler}, and yours truly {holding Noah}.

Here's most of the crew...Susa had not gotten there yet.

Thanks ladies for the awesome picnic! We need to do that again!!!!

We are jealous of your weather. I took Jonah out this morning and we had to walk around in our mall because it is still quite cold in the mornings (high 30s to low 40s). We'll have to go to the park when we visit in June!

Wish we had been home to see everyone. Yes I know the grandparents were not invited, but maybe a quick peek. By the way, love your new format with the key players...now you are going to tell me you did that a year ago.Well I just noticed it. Glad we will see you tonight for a bit as I am in serious need of a Noah fix.

...and again and again and again! It was so nice seeing you too! by the way you weren't early... we were late, sorry to miss any moment with you guys! Mrs. Smith... sorry we missed you too, but I think you had a pretty good excuse :) Grandfolk are always welcome!

The Story

Our son, Noah Stone Jackson, was born with a very rare genetic disorder called Fraser syndrome. Among his many challenges are one “hidden eye”, a narrow trachea (which required him to have a tracheotomy), an imperforate anus (which required a colostomy), difficulty swallowing (which required a G-Tube for feedings), the fusing of his vocal chords (which means he may never speak), and club feet (which are being corrected with braces). Our family is on an amazing journey together. We are learning to walk along this path that God has planned for us, trusting in His infinite love and wisdom. We are taking each day (or each moment) as it comes and relying on each other, our friends and family, and our God for strength. We have a long road ahead of us filled with several more surgeries, lots of recovery, countless hours of therapy, and many trips to specialists around the state. Every day brings us challenges but they pale in comparison to the smiles and cuddles from our little man. Noah is our son, a true gift from God, and we cannot wait to see where this adventure leads.
