Bittersweet
Today was truly a bittersweet day. At a few minutes after 7:00 a.m I dropped Noah off at Nana and Papa's house and headed back to work. I know that Noah will be loved, spoiled, and well taken care of by my parents, but I would be lying if I told you I didn't cry all the way to work. After the initial shock wore off, and after many hugs from sympathetic co-workers, I quickly got back into the swing of things. I was very excited to see all my kiddos and was almost knocked over by all the hugs. We had a fun day together filled with reading, flowers, writing about receiving a million dollars, and treats that Noah sent to all the students. I suppose if it had to happen, today could not have gone any better.

I'm with you girlie. Going back to work is not easy. On a positive it is so great at the end of the day when you get to love on your little one again. Even better is when they recognize you and get so excited when you come through the door. It makes even a hard day fade far away. It will get easier. In the meantime he is in great hands.
ReplyDeleteYou are not alone, m'dear. 1000 years ago I went through similar emotions in Rochester. Nana will do an excellent job of spoiling Noah, and I suspect Papa will pitch in too!
ReplyDeleteIt's so tough to drop them off and actually drive off to work. You have such a lovely warm group to go to work to, and Noah will be safe, happy, loved... in wonderful hands. Hang in there! It definitely gets better.
ReplyDeleteWe love having you back but we know that it was a tough day for you mom. We will keep you close to us while you are away from Noah...just think how sweet it will be each time you see him! We missed and I know your class was so happy to see you!

At least you can take comfort in knowing that Noah is in good hands. I should know, I was raised by those very same hands!
ReplyDeleteWas thinking about you yesterday. You're one tough woman! Hope the rest of the week goes quickly.
ReplyDeleteI am right there with you friend! Just returned myself! Hang in there. We are almost on summer break!
