Final Trip to Huntington Lake

A few weeks ago, we were fortunate to spend one last weekend up at Huntington Lake before the winter snow fell.  There was, in fact, a little bit of snow on the ground from a previous storm, but not enough to keep us away.
This was Noah's first time experiencing snow...and...well...he was not a big fan.

Bubs had much more fun exploring the trails down to the lake where most of the snow had melted.
He found some pretty cool rocks to climb and fun sticks to throw.

Even though it was not cold enough to keep the snow on the ground, it was still VERY cold.
Two buds...Noah and Squirt...going everywhere together!
The lake was quite low this winter.

Sierra was quite sad when she first ran down to the lake.  She couldn't quite figure out what had happened to her swimming hole.
It was strange to see the docks on dry land
but it sure gave bubs a lot more room to run around.

After all that hiking and exploring, it was sure nice to relax and warm up in front of the fire.

Huntington Lake

We were blessed last weekend to head back up to Huntington Lake and enjoy the cool morning air, chilly evenings that required a fire, and gorgeous scenery.  Every day, Noah loved walking down to the lake and going on a scavenger hunt.

Kc hid various animals along the path to the lake and Noah got such a kick out of finding them.
He was so surprised with each animal he found...even though he saw Daddy hide them and told me exactly where he was going to look.  Too funny!
Once at the lake, there were plenty of sticks to throw for Sierra.

She had so much fun swimming and fetching those sticks.
Here's my pensive Little Guy enjoying the weather...did I tell you that it is still in the upper 90s here in Fresno?!?  What in the world?!?  Someone needs to talk to Mother Nature and explain to her that it is fall and the weather is supposed to be cool.

Noah is really finding his sense of humor these days.  He loves to look for things that are silly and point them out...over...and over...and over again.  There was some dog poop {not from Sierra} on the tree stump and Bubs just thought that was just hysterical!
Octopuses as hats are even funnier!
Watcha lookin' at Daddy?
Noah was explaining how big the lake was.
There is a little dock on the lake that Bubs loves to play on.
All the scavenger hunt animals came out and enjoyed the dock.

I am just so privileged to be the mother of this little guy.
I love the time our little family has to spend together...relaxing and enjoying each other's company.

Huntington Lake...again

We were blessed to return to Huntington Lake for the second weekend in a row.  Kc continued to play with the borrowed {really cool} lens and took quite a few pictures.

The lake was full of sailboats for the High Sierra Regatta.  It was so fun to sit back and watch the boats sail by.
Of course, Sierra spent plenty of time swimming in the lake.
She was one tired little pup after all that exercise.
There were plenty of toys for Bubs to play with
and even more rocks to enjoy.
Mr. Man just loved playing on the deck.  He has been working on jumping with this physical therapist and took every opportunity to hop all over.
We also took advantage of the beautiful surroundings to take a family photo.
{Notice the rock in Bubs' hand}
I just love this one of our feet.

As we were packing up the car to leave on Sunday afternoon {sniff, sniff} Noah took his feeding pump stand and rolled it all around the deck.  Who knew it was such a fun toy.

Fourth of July

This past weekend, we were blessed, for the third time {2010 and 2009} to spend the Fourth of July weekend at our friend's cabin in Huntington Lake.  Kc borrowed a fun, new lens for his camera from a friend and had a blast taking pictures of Noah's adventures.

We went on several walks around the cabin and down to the lake.  Bubs enjoyed finding rocks,
no matter how big
or small {Bubs is signing "little"} they were.
He also liked to find sticks to throw.

I think his favorite activity, however, was looking for bugs.

He laughed every time he found an ant on the ground and even insisted on taking a stuffed bug out for a walk.
There were climbing adventures all around the lake

and so much fun to be had.

After all that work it was nice to sit on the deck, admire the view of the lake, and relax just a bit.  Bubs love to sit in the rocking chair with his books {Mr. Man just LOVES books}.

Sometimes he relaxed even further.

Sierra enjoyed naps on the deck as well.

Kc downloaded a new game on his iPhone for Noah...it's a concentration game with animal cards.  Mr. Man just LOVES it.  He does amazingly well, remembering where the animals are and picking the two that match.  Here is his concentration face.
After a long day in the mountains, we settled down and had chili and cornbread {in a jar}
and enjoyed the fire.
What an amazingly relaxing weekend!
