Happy Girl

Ava is a very happy little girl.  She spends her days eating, sleeping, and playing with Mama.  She loves to smile and giggle.

  

 

BAHA hearing device

You're looking at a boy with his new (demo...hence the animal print) BAHA hearing device. 

This Bone-Anchored Hearing Aid works by taking the sound from the outside and transmitting it to the inner ear through the bone. This bypasses the ear canal and the middle ear which is underdeveloped in Noah.

Noah gets to try this one out for two weeks while his new black one is ordered.  Bubs is able to hear the world now...and boy is it loud.  A few days after he started wearing the BAHA, Noah commented that we have "matching headbands".  He is too cute!

This month in pictures

Life has been crazy busy these past few weeks.  I have a list of blog posts that I want to tackle, but alas, they are not writing themselves.  You are going to have to settle for a quick series of photos.

Two Months Old - Ava

Can you believe my Little Miss is already two months old?  She is such an amazing addition to our family...I think I wrote that last month.  It is hard to remember what life was like without her.

Ava still has red, curly hair and blue eyes.  She is a great eater {transitioning from every two hours to every three} and is growing like a weed.  I continue to avoid all dairy and soy and Ava seems to be thriving. 

Ava's current stats are:

Weight:  12 pounds 2 ounces
Height:  24 inches

One Month Old - Ava



My sweet baby girl is one month old today.  She is such an amazing baby and a great addition to our family.  Because of Noah's allergies to dairy and soy, our fantastic pediatrician suggested that I eliminate those foods while breastfeeding because there is a strong likelihood Ava will be intolerant of them as well.  While it has been a challenge for me {I truly LOVE cheese and there is soy in EVE.RY.THING!}, Miss Ava has benefitted greatly.  I think I can count on one hand the number of times she has spit up...ever.  Noah used to spit up most of his meals and struggled to gain weight but Baby Girl is not having those challenges at all.  She has gained over two pounds since birth and is a happy baby.

 

Ava's current stats are:

 

Weight:  10 pounds 4 ounces

Height: 21.5 inches

 





Ava currently has red, curly hair and blue eyes.  She has much more hair than Noah had at that same age.  Check out Noah's one month picture with Ryan Bear.

Noah is a fantastic big brother.  He loves to hold his little sister, gives her hugs and kisses all the time, helps Mama out as much as he can, and has challenged himself to do things "Big Boys" do.
