Pumpkin Patch

We made our annual trek to the pumpkin patch this year and had so much fun with our new little pumpkin.  Last year, I was pregnant with Miss Ava and all I could think about was what this year would be like.  What would my Sweet Miss look like?  How would she impact our little family?  How would Noah be as a big brother?

And now...here we are.  My Sweet Miss is adorable (if I do say so myself), she is a simple blessing to our family, and Noah is the greatest big brother.  Before finding our pumpkins, we had a little photo shoot.

Look at my sweet babies.

I just love how big Ava looks in this photo.
I mean...seriously...babies in a wheelbarrow...how precious is that?!?
Once we started looking for pumpkins, Noah decided he wanted a "small, green one".  We looked and looked and looked until he found the perfect pumpkin.  It was small and green and had not a single blemish on it.  He was so proud!
While Daddy and I looked for our pumpkins, Noah had fun throwing clumps of dirt in the air and watching them break apart.
Unfortunately, this is our last trip to our beloved pumpkin patch because they have decided not to plant any more pumpkins after this season.  We said a fond farewell to Single Palm Pumpkin Patch and will be on the hunt for a new patch next year.

Fresno Corn Maze & Pumpkin Patch

A few days after our joyous and fun trip to the pumpkin patch, we decided to try another.  Bubs was so excited as we drove there.  He talked about pumpkins...and hay rides...and scary masks...and pumpkins...

Once we arrived, however, Mr. Man's happy face quickly turned to this.
I have no idea what happened, but Noah was NOT happy.  We could not get him to smile.  Not even once.  We tried walking amongst the pumpkins.  We tried finding big, fat orange pumpkins.  We even tried looking for small, green ones.  Nothing.
Bubs was NOT happy...until...we found the hay stack.  For some reason, climbing that tower of bails put a smile on my little guy's face.
He was so proud of himself for climbing all the way to the very, tippy top.
After scaling the mountain, Noah thought that it might possibly be time to actually look for a pumpkin.

This looks like a good one...but...well...it's orange...and round...and well...I don't know...
This one...well...hey...it's not even a pumpkin!  This is corn!
What about in here?!?  There's got to be a good pumpkin in here...
This is a pretty good one...but...well...I don't know.
Hey...I've found it...the perfect pumpkin...if only someone would help me carry it...please...

Single Palm Pumpkin Patch

Last weekend, we headed out to the Single Palm Pumpkin Patch with some friends.  Bubs was super excited to look for pumpkins, go on a hay ride, and run around with his buddies.

As soon as we got to the patch, we hopped right on the tractor for Noah's first hay ride.  He was very excited, and a bit nervous, but thoroughly enjoyed the ride.  The farmer gave us quite the tour of the patch along with an explanation of how pumpkins grow.
Mr. Man had to get his sea legs back after the hay ride.

Now...we were off to find the perfect pumpkin!
The kiddos all had to check out the large Jack-o-Lantern in the middle of the patch.  Jonah loved to hop from hay bale to hay bale while Riley was happy to bang on the metal pumpkin.
Noah spent quite a bit of time searching for the perfect pumpkin.

What about this one?
Or this one?
I've found it!  The perfect pumpkin!
Bubs found the smallest, greenest pumpkin {thanks to Karen's keen eye} in the patch and instantly fell in love.

After picking out the pumpkins, we checked out the rest of the farm.  There was a pig {who was snoozing in his house}, a cute story time area, and fun places to take pictures.

Jonah was all about taking pictures.  He loved being a scarecrow.
Riley joined in the action and was a cute scarecrow.
Noah, on the other hand, was quite skeptical of sticking his face through the hole.  He kept staring at Jonah wondering what in the world he was doing.

I tried to show Noah that it was fun to stick your face in the hole and take a picture.
After much insisting, Bubs tried it.  He was not amused.
On our way back to the car, Mr. Man had to check out all the scary masks.  He was so funny because he would tell us, "It's sooo scary!", but then spend quite a bit of time inspecting the mask.

We had a fun time with our friends Jonah
and Riley.
What a fun way to usher in this Fall Season!

Halloween Crafts

Several months ago, I found a few pictures on Pinterest {Are you following me?  You really should!} using embroidery hoops to display funky fabric on the walls.

I mean, seriously, how cute is this?
 Or this for Christmas?

It just so happened that my amazing Mother had some extra embroidery hoops just lying around at her house.  I offered to take them off her hands, I'm such a thoughtful and generous daughter, and she agreed.  I used a few left-over pieces of fabric and added a few new ones to create this wall in my entryway.  Isn't it just the cutest?  It makes me so happy whenever I walk past, plus, I now have a place to check my lipstick before I run out the door.
If you look closely, just to the right of the mirror {which, by the way, came from my Dad's old office}, there is an embroidered heart made by my dear friend, Amy.  How sweet is that???

I still had a few scraps of fabric left-over and was searching for something to do with them until I saw this.

These adorable pumpkins {found on Pinterest, of course} just jumped out at me and couldn't help but make them.
I followed the easy, peasy directions here and was so excited at how they came out.
I absolutely love orange and blue together and am thrilled that they look "fall-ish" but are much brighter than the typical orange, yellow, and brown combination.
This bowl of pumpkins just makes my heart happy!
