Doesn't Noah know it's almost Christmas!

Well, the results of my blood glucose test came back and I am at the high end of normal. My Dr. advised me to stay away from all processed sugars and severely limit my carbs. Eek! How am I supposed to do that with Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner. I was thinking that being pregnant would be my excuse to partake in all the holiday deliciousness I wanted - I absolutely LOVE the stretchy waistband on my maternity jeans. Apparently that won't be an option for me. Noah is already looking out for his Mama and making sure she stays healthy this holiday season.

Good news!

Today was a busy day for Kc and I. We both took the day off of work and headed over to the clinic at 7:30 a.m. for my four hour fasting blood glucose test. My blood sugar has been high lately and the Dr. wants to determine if I have gestational diabetes. For those of you who have never had the privilege of experiencing a blood glucose test...first you fast for twelve hours. Then you drink 12 oz. of an incredibly sugary, fruit punch flavored syrup. Then every hour for four hours you have blood drawn. So much fun! We should have the results back in a day or two. Meanwhile I am off sugar and have severely limited my carbs. Probably better for me, but, oh so hard to do.

After that joy, we headed over to our high-risk OB for another ultrasound of Noah. We have been having monthly ultrasounds to keep and eye on his club feet and bladder. The first view we had was a perfect profile of our son.

He now weighs 3 pounds 11 ounces and is starting to put on some baby fat. We were able to get some 3-D pictures that show his cute lips and button nose.

The good news is his bladder looked much better this month. We have been concerned with the abnormal, "keyhole" shape to his bladder. The Dr. thought Noah would probably need surgery immediately after he was born. This month, however, his bladder looked better. It is still abnormally shaped and we will continue to watch it, but we are hopeful he won't need immediate surgery. Thank you so much for your continued prayers.

Baby Shower

Joanie, who has known me since I was 9 months old, along with her daughter Jennifer and daughter-in-law Jana, threw me a most elegant baby shower this Saturday.
I was surrounded by amazing women who have known me forever, family from far and wide, as well as awesome friends from work.
I was touched by everyone's generosity and creativity. This is a quilt that my 93 year old Grandmother, Noah's Great-Grandmother, made.Kc and I are set for Noah's arrival. We have everything we could possibly need...all except for the baby.
